27.05. 2020 – 25.05. 2021
Glasmuseet Ebeltoft has a unique and diverse collection of contemporary glass art dating from 1970-2020. The collection is in constant development and today numbers 1641 works created by 784 artists from all over the world.
Close contact with glass practitioners and the glass environment in general has been of the utmost importance since the museum’s start. This is reflected, among other things, in the museum’s collection policy, which is based on the principle that it is the artists themselves who select the works that are donated or lent to the collection.
This exhibition presents a selection of the new works received in the collection over the past four years. Many works are traditionally donated after being shown in an exhibition at the museum, so this presentation will, therefore, be a reunion with a number of works from some of the large group exhibitions of recent years.
Represented in the exhibition among others are works by Joshua Hershmann, USA, Jamex & Einar de la Torre, Mexico, Luba Bakicová, Slovakia, Holly Grace, Australia, Nina Westman, Sweden, Giles Bettison, Australia, Jennifer Crescuillo, USA, Maria Koshenkova, Russia/Denmark, Momoo Omuro, Japan, Julius Weiland, Germany, Erin Dickson, UK, and Leah Kudel, Canada.
Glasmuseet Ebeltoft was inaugurated in June 1986 by H.M. Queen Margrethe, who is patron of the museum.
