THE PERMANENT COLLECTION

THE PERMANENT COLLECTION

Glasmuseet Ebeltoft’s extensive collection of contemporary glass has been established with the support of more than 700 internationally recognised glass artists from all over the world. These artists have all generously donated or lent work to the collection, which today comprises more than 1600 objects.

The collection consists of work by artists from the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Republic of Belarus, Rumania, Russia, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela, Yugoslavia.

The permanent collection is presented in various theme exhibitions every year. After a period of time, works are often exchanged for other works which still fit the chosen theme. In this way, we can show a larger number works from the collection. Occasionally the total exhibition space is occupied by separate exhibitions, but the museum strives to show as many of the works from the collection as possible.

Permanently on display is Tróndur Patursson’s “Cosmic Space” donated to the museum by Ny Carlsbergfondet.
