When Anna Mlasowsky started working with glass as a student she was told to be careful not to break the glass. Seeing the cracks as something beautiful and full of expression, rather than something broken, she found it difficult to understand. In her Study project ”Contemporary Traditions” Anna Mlasowsky tests, plays and challenges both herself and the visitors. Instead of discarding works with flaws, Anna Mlasowsky works with the technical mistakes which happen during the making process.
Anna Mlasowsky (b. 1984, Germany) was educated at the Design School Bornholm, 2007-2011. Represented in collections at European Museum for Modern Glass Art, Kunstsammlungen der Veste Coburg, Germany, Toyama City Museum of Glass Art, Japan, Museum of American Glass, Milville, New Jersey, USA. Public installation at Bornholm Regional Hospital, Denmark, 2011.
